ETST 252 Final Project

Please indicate your intentions for your final project in this class:

  • Describe WHO and/or WHAT you are interested in researching.
    • Of course, this interest must grow from the key terms, concepts, and frameworks of ETST
  • Individual or open to small group?

  • Choose ONE option for the MEDIUM of your proposed project:
    • Zine
    • In-class presentation
    • Creative project: song, video, podcast, visual art, performance, etc.
  • WHY are you choosing this topic and media?

A) ENGAGE ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:

What is the story you seek to recover for our collective memory? Why is this story important for our activist memory?

What is the knowledge produced by this activist/movement? What is their vision of the world as it should be?

How does this activist/movement confront the structures of power we have been studying? (white supremacy, racial capitalism, imperialism, settler colonialism, heteropatriarchy, etc.)

For Zines:

  • Submit draft ideas for each page of your zine, including front and back cover
  • Describe images, words, layout
  • 3 Possible Sources -- that you plan on engaging and referencing

For Creative Projects:

  • Submit detailed description of your intended creative project (150-300 words) -- materials, subject matter, medium, how the art engages the research, etc.
  • 3 Possible Sources -- that you plan on engaging and referencing

For Interviews:

  • Submit 5 draft questions re: Background
  • Submit 5 draft questions re: Life
  • Submit 5 draft questions re: Future
  • 3 Possible Sources -- that you plan on engaging and referencing

For Presentations:

  • Submit draft ideas, preliminary outline for each slide of your presentation (make sure to plan for 10 min max)
  • 3 Possible Sources -- that you plan on engaging and referencing
