Hope Made Visible ^TM

Hope Made Visible™ is a moving art project led by Dr. Alessandra Colfi, under the auspices of San Diego Cancer Research Institute, which transforms the perception of those affected by cancer by raising empathetic awareness and restoring hope and resilience. Using expressive arts therapy to assist individuals in processing their healing journeys, with hope as well as grief, Dr. Colfi shares art flags created by cancer patients and their loved ones to illustrate purpose, comfort, and solidarity both locally and internationally. The University Library at California State University San Marcos, in collaboration with the CSU Shiley Institute for Palliative Care, is exhibiting 1,000+ flags created by patients and family members from all over the world.

“Participants are invited to design several unique flags with fabric and a wide variety of materials as a reflection of their current hopes and dreams, giving a visual voice to prayers, blessings, concerns, and thoughts… Imagination unleashed!”

This beautiful exhibit will be on display through May 2020 in the University Library (3rd floor gallery space). Free and open to the public during all library hours. It is free & open to the public during all library hours.
