Finding news articles

Choosing a topic can be difficult! Background research is meant to help us move through this step and prepare us for searching in the library databases. News articles are a great way to discover timely, relevant health topics. Here are a few tips for discovering a topic:

  • Think about a health-related topic you have a personal connection with. Is there anything that affects you or people you know that you would like to learn more about?
  • Read the news! Have you heard about something of interest through social media or news lately?
  • You can also search the library databases listed below for news articles. See the "Searching Proquest News" tab for a quick review of searching this database.

Important note! If you are searching through a website and run up against a paywall, try searching for the title of the article in one of our library news databases. If you still can't find it, email your librarian (info on the right!).
