CSUSM University Library Award for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity

In recognition of scholarship and creative activity in CSUSM undergraduate student research

About this Award

Applying for a $500 cash prize and public recognition of your amazing work is easy if you meet the simple criteria listed below:

  • You are currently enrolled as a CSUSM undergraduate student (or group of students) at the time of project completion (Spring 2023, Summer 2023, Fall 2023, or Spring 2024).

    • We like all types of projects! They can range from written research papers to creative works  such as creative writing, art, music, lyrics, poetry, dance, etc..

    • Group projects can win too! Just make sure that if you are completing the project as a group, everyone is currently enrolled as an undergraduate student and everyone agrees to submit the work. If a group project is selected to win an award, the $600 cash prize will be distributed equally among all group members.

      • The work is/was created as part of a class or Independent Study at CSUSM during the following terms: Spring 2023, Summer 2023, Fall 2023, or Spring 2024.

  • You include a narrative explaining your research processes (hint: this is a library award so we really want to know about your research processes and the library resources used).

  • If you win, you will:
