Part #1 Regional Deep-Dive

  • Individually - Conduct an in-depth analysis of a country or world region with a focus on the business, economic, and cultural environment.

Research try:

  • Economic & other indicators page - data sources, many can be downloaded into Excel 
    • Think about this in relationship to a framework such as CAGE, PRIME, etc. 
  • Country Reports page - contains databases & website sources
  • Passport Euromonitor page - premium database provides indicators and also market intelligence. Watch librarian created video for some insights on navigation. 

Part #2 Market Entry Challenge

  • Teams - Act as a consultant to advise a company on how to enter a new international market (selecting a country & justifying an entry strategy)

Research try

  • Ebooks - several titles provide information market entry, globalization, etc. - some have additional case studies
  • On the Trade, Tariffs, Logistics page

    • Learn from official government sources for your selected country or market area. 
      • GlobalEdge country guide - navigate to resources link for list of official government resources
      •  Craft smart searched in Google using domain for country and keywords example - site:.gov.in AND Direct foreign Investment
  • Passport Euromonitor for market intelligence

Part #3 Capstone - Doing Business in....

  • Individual - Synthesize (to create new knowledge) information from Part #1 and Part #2
    • Note - this is not re-telling of what you have already done (read your assigment)

Research try:

  • As needed secure additional research to arrive at being able to advise your global firm on the HOW and the WHY of expansion.
    • Information may come from a number of sources already mention or may include new sources informing your recommendations. Examples: You may incorporate information from current Global Business News or leverage Analyst insights from reports or premium databases such as Passport Euromonitor.
