Provides a list of resources about understanding racial/cultural trauma, healing for Black individuals and racial trauma, ally resources, toolkits, trainings, and therapy resources. 

Provides information, connection to resources, advocacy and support for students dealing with personal, academic, financial or other challenges which may adversely affect their academic success and/or collegiate experience. 

Embraces a holistic and collaborative approach to healthcare by offering primary care, preventive services, wellness education, and mental health services to the CSUSM community. SHCS offers quality healthcare provided by a multidisciplinary team of medical and mental health professionals and support staff who are trained to assist students with their health and wellness related needs.

FACES was created to provide a confidential space that offers supportive services, resource linkage, workshops, faculty to faculty coaching, and professional training and development.

Most of us manage our lives successfully. There are times, however, when personal problems interfere with relationships, job performance, and physical health. Everyone can benefit from help when these difficulties arise. That's why California State University San Marcos is providing a special employee benefit called an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), administered by Empathia LifeMatters®.

Promotes the academic, cultural, social, and political consciousness of students of color by actively engaging in institutional partnerships that will result in the overall increase of student recruitment, active member participation, retention, and graduation rates.

As the first of the Student Life Centers established at CSUSM in 2003, the Cross-Cultural Center encourages identity exploration by challenging students to think critically about social justice issues and appreciate differences.

Building on second-wave feminism’s creed of “the personal is political,” the Gender Equity Center is guided by principles of intersectional feminism: we recognize that while all women experience oppression, we also all experience oppression in varying forms based on race, age, class, gender, sexuality, dis/ability, etc. The GEC is intentionally inclusive of transgender, nonbinary, intersex, and gender non-conforming folks.

Grounded on community building standards deriving from “Familismo” principals and operates from a Latinx Critical Theoretical lens. They focus on Latin@/x student cultural empowerment by providing affirming and validating literature, artwork, and media within our space.

The LGBTQA Pride Center (PC) is an inclusive space which promotes positive interactions in a diverse environment. The PC strives to provide a space that celebrates and affirms students who identify with all genders and sexualities in the LGBTQ community and their allies.

The primary mission of the Faculty Center is to support faculty in their multiple roles as teachers, scholars, artists, intellectuals and members of the university and wider community. Through diverse programming, the Faculty Center fosters a culture of continuous improvement in order to positively impact student learning.

Launched in August 2020, the Staff Center is a care initiative and an important component of CSUSM's efforts to ensure that all staff have access to peer support, opportunities for professional development and advancement, and referrals to on and off-campus resources. The Center aims to provide resources to develop, care for, and retain CSUSM's talented employee base. While entirely virtual currently, the Staff Center is committed to providing programming and events for CSUSM staff.

The focus of BFSA is to promote awareness of Black culture. BSFA strongly emphasizes success of CSUSM Black students as they navigate through the Cal State San Marcos experience.

The association shall promote Latinos on campus by contributing to the University's effort to recruit, retain, and enhance the achievements of Latino faculty, staff, and students, by assisting in the attainment of equitable Latino representation at the administrative, faculty and staff levels, by offering perspectives and guidance on educational, employment and social community issues affecting the Latino community, and by serving as the advising body for Latino related issues on campus.

The mission of LGBTQA FSA is to address the needs of Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Queer people and allies (LGBTQA) on campus, to serve the LGBTQA community, and to promote the various LGBTQA cultures.

The Office of University Ombuds is here to help current CSUSM faculty, staff and enrolled students resolve University-related conflicts, disputes or complaints on an informal basis. Ombuds services supplement, but do not replace, other administrative processes at the University.

We use a framework for diversity and inclusive excellence, referring to the many dimensions that it embraces—all the ways in which people are similar and different, particularly with regard to social identities—as well as the overarching framework that helps to define and guide CSUSM’s work in educational equity, inclusion, and social justice.
