CALM

The Cougars Affordable Learning Materials Program (CALM) is part of the CSU Affordable Learning Solutions initiative started in 2010. CALM aims to aid faculty in replacing costly textbooks with lower cost alternatives by using high-quality, open education

Don't Go Textbook Broke!

Don’t let textbook costs break the bank—let us help you get what you need!

The University Library will host tabling events to help students save money on textbooks! Library Reserves staff and librarians will be available to answer students' questions about the cheapest places to find textbooks.

Check out our guide for more info on saving money on textbooks!

Library Reserves💻📚
Before you buy your textbooks, check to see if we have them in the Library. Library Reserves is where you can find course materials including print books, ebooks, online readings, and streaming films. Ebooks, online readings, and films can be accessed directly through your course’s Library Reserves list.

1. Search for your course and instructor on the Library Reserves list

2. Click on your course to see what materials are available for free to you through the Library.

For print books, you can check them out at the 3rd Floor Check Out Desk during our library hours.

If your course materials are not in Library Reserves, visit the Students CALM webpage to find other resources you can try to find cheap textbooks!
