Opening Springer ebooks: Method 1
There are 2 ways you can open up an ebook through Springer.
- Method 1: Use OneSearch to find the book and click the link next to "Full text available at" or "Online access may be available."
- If you are off-campus, you will have to login using your CSUSM username and password.
- Once you click "Online access may be available" you will be taken to a page that will show you which database platforms host the book. If there is more than one database provided you can choose any of them. In the example below, you can see that it is hosted by SpringerLink. Click on that.
Opening Spring ebooks: Method 2
- Method 2: Go directly to the Springer ebook database and find a book by doing a keyword search or browsing.
- Click on the title, as shown by the green arrow above pointing to Rocket Science to open the book.
Opening the Whole Book or a Chapter
- Regardless of which method you use to get there, on the next page you will be given options for how you can open the book on your device. Options for downloading the full text of the book might include Download Book PDF and/or Download Book EPUB. Next to each individual chapter is a PDF symbol which allows you to download just that chapter. Click on one of those and the book or chapter will open.
