Managing your Library Reserves

Mediasite to Mircosoft Stream Transition

The Library Reserves team, in partnership with the Information, Instruction, and Technology Services (IITS), is working on the transition from Mediasite to Microsoft Stream. We understand the importance of uninterrupted access to educational resources and our primary goal is to ensure a smooth and seamless experience for all Library Reserves users.

At this stage, we do not anticipate any disruptions. Faculty and students will be informed of any updates and progress related to this transition. We will work to provide continuous and reliable access to our media resources throughout this process.

New Library Reserves User Interface (UI)

A new look is coming to Library Reserves lists user interface (UI) in July 2024*. In preparation for switching to the new UI the Library has been collaborating with the Reserves list vendor to provide feedback and undertake comprehensive testing. 

The updated design prioritizes enhancing usability on small devices, primarily laptops, and a more complimentary design alongside Canvas. A strong focus is given to optimizing key tasks for educators and accessing resources for students, resulting in a noticeably cleaner and simplified new interface. 

Library Reserves staff are available to answer any functionality to workflow questions and gather your feedback. A new Library Reserves Instructors Manual has been created to show how to complete the common tasks, key timelines for getting lists ready, making lists available to students. You can also search a list of what we anticipate to be Frequently Asked Questions for the new Library Reserves user interface.

Preview the New Library Reserves list user interface

You can preview the new interface for yourself before we make the switch in June.

Steps:

  1. Log in to Library Reserves

  2. In the browser, modify the Library Reserves URL by changing the word "readinglist" to “nui”:

Before: /leganto/readinglist/lists

After: /leganto/nui/lists
